RentAura ("RentAura", "we", "us") is a rental-property management app for property owners and their tenants. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using RentAura you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account & identity — your name, email address, and the identifier from the sign-in provider you use to authenticate.
- Property & lease information — property addresses, lease terms, rent and deposit amounts, occupancy details, and related notes you enter.
- Documents you upload — lease agreements and other property documents (PDF, image, or Word/DOCX files), including any personal information contained within them.
- Payments & expenses — payment records, receipts, expense entries, and any proof-of-payment images you attach.
- Maintenance requests — descriptions and photos submitted about a property.
- Communications — messages, invites, and support requests you send through the app.
Information collected automatically
- Usage & diagnostics — app performance, error/crash diagnostics, and basic request logs used to keep the service reliable and secure.
- Device permissions — with your consent, the camera (to photograph receipts/documents) and your photos/files (to upload documents). We access these only when you choose to add a photo or file.
2. How we use your information
- Provide and operate the service — manage properties, leases, tenancies, payments, expenses, documents, and maintenance.
- Provide optional AI features — when you upload a lease for "extract details" or "lease review", the document's contents are processed to read the text and produce a structured summary or review (see §4).
- Send transactional notifications and emails (e.g. receipts, invites, lease reminders).
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, debug, and improve reliability.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. Where your data is stored
RentAura runs on Microsoft Azure. Your data is stored in Azure services (SQL Database, Blob Storage, and Cosmos DB) and transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Access between our services uses managed identities rather than shared passwords.
4. Third-party processors
We share information only with service providers who process it on our behalf to run RentAura:

These providers act under agreements that restrict use of your data to providing their service to us.
5. Data retention & deletion
We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. You can delete individual items (documents, payments, properties) in the app. To delete your account and associated personal data, contact us at the address below and we will process the request. Some records may be retained where required by law.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in §9.
7. Children
RentAura is intended for adults managing rental properties and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
